Our season began with a gravel race as 13 of our riders went to Uncle Johns Dirty Ride, many first time racers. As our team has grown we've created an environment that encourages everyone to do their best no matter their skill level and I am super proud of each and every member that raced. We ended up having a blast and landing on a couple podiums with:
56mile race:
Gwen Urbain: 5th OA Women
Lydia Elbert: 1st in 19-29 Women
Ian Rief: 1st in 19-29 Men
Ted Roe: 2nd in 19-29 Men
26mi race:
Marisa Carpenter: 2nd in 19-29 Women
Mack Andersen: 2nd in 19-29 Men
And a special shout-out to our first time racers who absolutely crushed it!!
Abbey Salisbury
Jose VanHorn
Ben Adams
Marisa Carpenter
Tony Hinderliter
Zack Phillips
After Uncle Johns our true Mountain Bike Season began at the Island Lake Mountain Bike Challenge in Novi Michigan. Our riders took on some home trails with some great results and first time mountain bike racers!!
Ian Rief: 2nd Elite men
Ted Roe: Elite Men
Gwen Urbain: 2nd Elite Women
Mack Andersen: 3rd Sport Men Under 18
Will Italia: 1st Sport Men 19-29
Lily Connors: 1st Sport Women
Abbey Salisbury: 1st beginner Women (in her first ever MTB race!!)
We then travelled up to Traverse City for some fall views as the hurricane hit Kentucky where our first National Championship qualifier race was supposed to be. As our race got cancelled we thought this was a great chance to see some familiar faces in TC and check out the sand dunes after the race! NMMBA per usual put on an awesome race and course for Traverse City Trails Fest and we had a blast zooming through the singletrack.
Ian Rief: 7th OA Men
Ted Roe: 1st Expert Men
Gwen Urbain: 5th OA Women
LJ: 2nd Sport Men under 29
Mack Andersen: Sport Men under 29
Lydia Elbert: 2nd Sport Women under 29

We have had a great season so far and looking to the future are excited to be coming up on our first MTB Qualifier for Nationals this coming weekend October 12-13th in Pennsylvania at the ECCC MTB Champs! After ECCC our riders have a couple more races to compete at including Peak2Peak, Lindsey Wilson, and Iceman to round out the season!!
